Community Churchyard Work Parties

The Green Team is always pleased to welcome new members, especially to help with the monthly Community Churchyard Work Parties. These are held on alternate Saturday mornings from 10.00 am to 12 noon. No experience needed; tools and gloves provided (if you would prefer to use your own, please do bring them along); mid-morning refreshments; a variety of tasks to suit all ages and abilities.

When and where?

Second Monday of every month 1:30pm-3:00pm in the small hall of St Chad’s Parish Centre 

Who’s it for?

People with Dementia and their partners or carers, together with anyone who would like to come and share memories

What does it cost?

£1 per session

What’s involved?

Enjoying  tea, coffee and cake, along with general conversation.  There is a theme each month – for example singing, or the 1950s, or “life in my Street”.

Cricket Club

New players, volunteers and sponsors are all welcome.

We are the only amateur cricket club in Headingley, Leeds with over 140 years of history and 20 senior and junior teams, playing both at the weekend and midweek. Join us now!

We are looking for new players of all standards and ages for the following teams:

  • 4 Saturday and 1 Sunday senior league teams (champions in 2010, 2015 and 2020)
  • 3 midweek evening senior league teams (champions in 2014, 2015 and 2020)
  • A new women’s league team playing both hard ball and soft ball cricket
  • A new senior friendly team playing at the weekend and midweek
  • 5 junior teams at various age groups starting from 5 years old
  • A new girls’ team playing in soft ball cricket festivals

…..and if you want to play all year round you can play for one of our four indoor league teams (champions in 2020) in the winter! No other cricket club in the area can provide cricket for such a wide variety of standards and ages, all year round.

As well as new players, we are also looking for new volunteers and sponsors.
